Sweet lips
Lab-e-shireen literally means 'sweet lips'. It is a cold dessert of thickened sweetened milk set with custard or cornflour, folded with vermicelli, jelly cubes, tinned fruit, and sometimes cream and nuts. Colours come from the jelly and the fruit.
Why it works after a heavy meal
After karahi and BBQ, a hot dessert is too much. Lab-e-shireen is cold, light and only moderately sweet. It is also quick to serve, which is why it closes most big functions.

Ordering
One bowl is a generous single serving; two people with small appetites can share. Pair with tea if you want something warm afterwards.
